Book A Tasting

We invite you to visit and sample our selection of four distinct spirits. As a token of our appreciation, you'll receive a traditional Bulgarian ceramic brandy (rakia) glass, custom-crafted in Bulgaria by the great-great-grandson of the esteemed architect and master builder, Kolyu Ficheto.

Kolyu Ficheto, born in 1800 in Dryanovo—then part of the Ottoman Empire—was a self-taught architect and builder who became a master craftsman at the age of 36. Despite being illiterate, he spoke fluent Turkish and had proficiency in Greek and Romanian. His architectural legacy includes iconic structures such as the House with the Monkey in Veliko Tarnovo, the Covered Bridge in Lovech, and the Church of the Holy Trinity in Svishtov. One of his most celebrated works is the Byala Bridge over the Yantra River, constructed between 1865 and 1867. Ficheto famously guaranteed the bridge's safety by lying beneath it during its first test crossing.

The ceramic glasses offered are not only functional but also symbolize a connection to Bulgaria's rich cultural heritage and the enduring craftsmanship of Kolyu Ficheto's lineage.
