Rasate Rum – Small-Batch Craft Rum

Rasate Rum starts with raw molasses and a refusal to over-polish. Built on the same distilling philosophy behind our award-winning Brandy, it delivers deep smoky sweetness wrapped in a smooth, commanding texture. Rich and expressive from first sip to finish, this is a rum with weight and character-crafted to stand up near, shine in cocktails, and leave an impression long after the glass is empty.

No artificial flavors or additives - just fruit, time, and traditional distillation.

40% ABV // 80 PROOF

Rasate

Rasate Rum is named after a very notorious figure (for some) in Bulgarian history. Vladimir was the eldest son of Boris I, the leader responsible for Christianizing the country. Vladimir did not approve of his father's policies, seeing them as Byzantine influence. His reign was marked by resistance to the Christian religion, destruction of churches and persecution of Christians. Vladimir took back his pagan name Rasate and actively worshiped the pagan God Tangra. During Rasate's reign his younger brother Simeon I returned from Constantinople where he was studying. He blinded and imprisoned Rasate. He replaced him and was the first ruler to become tzar.

Vetus Distillery is a local rum producer focused on small-batch craft spirits production and hands-on craftsmanship. Visitors from Monroe and the Charlotte area often experience Rasate Rum during guided tastings at our distillery, where we share the story behind each bottle.
